Today brought one of those emails—the kind that artists, writers, musicians, and creators of all kinds know intimately: a polite “thank you, but no thank you.” My short story submission wasn’t accepted.

For a moment, the familiar sting of disappointment settled in. But then, a different feeling took its place: a fierce, quiet resolve.

The creative journey is filled with closed doors. However, our hard work, the worlds we build, and the pieces of our soul we pour into our creations should never be hidden away or forgotten. A story’s worth isn’t defined by external validation but by the connection it makes with creator.

The theme for the submission call was “Time Dust,” and it resonated with me so profoundly that it felt as if it had merged with my own timeline. My creative process is driven by translating past experiences and powerful visions into narrative. This story is a direct manifestation of that process, born from the image of a world shimmering under the fallout of a broken second—a literal, physical time dust.

Because of this platform, and because of you, this story will not be forgotten. So, in the spirit of resilience and in celebration of the work itself, I want to share it with you today. It’s a reminder to myself, and to any of you who might need it, that our creations deserve to see the light.

And that is the magic of this place.

Thank you for being here in this space with me. As I continue on this journey, this story may expand or even transform.
